About

Born in Seattle, Kristin Jensen graduated from Bellevue High where she excelled in art. She began studying at the University of Washington, but the “call of the wild” was too strong.

Working for newspapers in Florida inspired and transformed Kristin into a graphic artist. In 1980, she opened Starbird Design. The small business, located in Fremont, provided tons of inspiration and joy for over ten years.

A late-life mother, Kristin chose semi-retirement in 1993 after moving to Camano Island. When her  sons. Nikolas and Julian, were young, she wrote and illustrated several stories from travels and adventures in Florida and Ohio, a novella, a historical novel, and began another writing project which is currently underway.

Kristin will graduate from Skagit Valley Community College in June 2015 with a certificate in Multimedia Interactive Technology.

Stories based on a character invented by my father, Robert E. Jensen of Seattle, WA. He wanted to help us learn to be safe by listening to his instructions, so he invented Susan, who never listened to her dad. These stories highlight old Bellevue sites and flora, and were a joy to write.
