Tris Hussey, author of the text we are using in this class “Create Your Own Blog” says that your first few posts will suck, and he is right. I have been learning so much that I dropped the ball on explaining my material to a new audience. When I lived in Florida during the early Seventies, there was a column in the newspaper called “Nature Notes,” just observations of a resident, which I really enjoyed. So I started writing them, too, but I never had an easy way to share them, until now.

Born in Seattle, I graduated from Bellevue High where I excelled in art, which I began studying at the U of W, but the call of the wild was too strong. I worked for newspapers and became a self taught graphic artist. By 1980, I had my own business which supported me and provided a ton of inspiration and joy for over ten years. A late life mother, I became semi-retired in 1993 and moved to Camano Island. When my sons were young I wrote and illustrated several stories from my travels in Florida and Ohio, a novella, a historical novel, and began another writing project which is currently underway. I will graduate from SVCC in June with a certificate in Multimedia Interactive Technology and am looking forward to the future with anticipation.
